La Llorona
An Art Nouveau inspired Illustration of the folktale of “La Llorona”. Done in watercolor, colored pencil, acrylic and small collaged pieces of paper.
Growing up in Venezuela, spooky folktales were a big part of my childhood. In my family we often sat around in groups and share and tell stories and legends of the paranormal. A lot of the elements in this Illustration were inspired by the legend of her origin story, the Art Nouveau movement and symbols of that remind me of my Venezuelan heritage.
